//About the Lady

 Musings of a Brunette is my way of getting myself back into journalling. Instead of sticking to one topic, my blog will be all over the place… my thoughts, daily stories, fashion, interning experiences, memories, inspirations, etc – all jumbled up in one organized mess.  I’ve started a blog before and I never knew what to write about, so it was quickly forgotten.  But this time there will be no more excuses! I’m new to blogging and everyone has to start somewhere so I’m going to learn to stick with it… after all, people who journal apparently have better immune systems (!!!)

About Me’s are the hardest things for me to write, so bear with me!  As you can see, my name is Natalie Brooke.  Twenty-one years old. I’m an old fashioned woman born in the wrong era with a love for anything vintage. I live with my dad and two cats, and am currently interning for Jennifer Lilya Fashion Illustration (and lovin’ it!)  I’m a lover of animals, and all things feminine!   I enjoy old movies, being curled up with a good book and my cats on my lap, nutella, fashion, illustrating fashion, thriller/mystery novels, romance novels,  having a kindred spirit, giving advice, Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley, Lucille Ball, Doris Day, laughing till I cry, scrapbooking, doing crafts, dreaming, writing letters, and (of course!) getting mail.  I am honest, silly, beautiful, and a hopeless romantic! (:

These are a few of my favourite thingsart, bows, peacocks, lace, floral print, peonies, chocolate, pink, blush, interning, my martha stewart pen, nutella, snail-mail, christmas, fashion, antiques, archie comics, gilbert blythe, weddings, roses, dreams, crafts, new book smell, new car smell, vanilla, oldies, smiles, kittens, warm herbal tea, hearts, notebooks, roadtrips, cheese, saturdays, my blog.

“Natalie is a fantastic person all around. She’s passionate for all things art & fashion, which is invaluable. Natalie’s got a natural knack for PR & writes with such positivity & wit on her blogs. Her color sense & composition also makes her a good graphic designer & illustrator- amazing that she’s just starting out! I’d recommend Natalie to any company/individual looking for a unique perspective on the fashion front- whether it be PR/Graphics/Writing or Illustrating- she’s got a gift for fab! I don’t know what I would’ve done without her these past few months as my intern. – Jennifer Lilya Fashion Illustration” (client)

      No problem!! I love reading your blog! (: Thanks for following mine, do you have any tips?

      • October 24, 2010 4:29 PM

        In regards to blogging? Hrm, it’s all very subjective but I think most important is to stick to your own true style (writing, pics, anything), instead of maybe imitating someone else’s because that’s why your readers come back! And also to network!

      • October 24, 2010 8:35 PM

        Thanks! I’m still trying to find my own style I guess, but I’ll get there.. I appreciate the tips!! :)

    Hi Natalie! I was looking around your blog and loved how it looked. Saw that you love vintage, so do I! I love old fashion clothes in two different eras. The 1800s with the big corset dresses and 1920-40s that flashy, red lipstick and sparkly high heels. Pretty much everything in Christina Aguilera’s music video for “Ain’t No Other Man.” Sorry for ranting. I can’t wait to read more of your posts! :)

    • June 11, 2011 8:29 PM

      Hey Meghan!! Thanks sooo much! – that means a lot! Vintage is the best, I love those eras too, I was just watching a movie the other day with the big dresses and corsets and I commented on how I would love to wear them. The 20-40’s are great too!! So beautiful! Ahh, I’ll have to look that song up! and no problem at all! haha. Thanks!! <3
